Mardi Gras Parades

Dear Mardi Gras Participant:
Our day parade will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010. Our night parade will be held on Mardi Gras, Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Both parades will be held in the City of Gulfport.
This year our theme is Enchanted Aria. Although it is desirable for you to follow the theme of the parades, it is not mandatory. All entries will be judged and awards will be presented to the winner of each of the following three categories: (1) Theme, (2) Best Commercial Float, and (3) Best Marching Unit.
As I am sure most of you are aware, the City of Gulfport has made major budget cuts for this fiscal year, and due to this, are requiring the Krewe of Gemini to contribute to law enforcement costs should we wish to continue hosting both of our annual parades. Due to this we have slightly increased entry fees in an effort to partially cover the costs the krewe is incurring as a result of budget cuts. Please do not let this deter you from participating, as the Krewe of Gemini is determined to not let this affect our annual Carnival Celebration, and make this the biggest and best year ever. Entry fees are non-refundable and are listed on the attached Entry Form. Please make checks payable to the “Krewe of Gemini”.
I will be accepting entries up until the day prior to the parade, however, specific arrangements must be made with the Parade Captain to turn in your entry, payment, and other necessary documents. Your line-up information will be issued on the day of the parade upon arrival. Please reserve a one-foot square space on both sides of the front of your float/vehicle for your number place cards.

ATTACHED PLEASE FIND THE MOST CURRENT LINE-UP INFORMATION FOR BOTH PARADES. PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOUR ENTRY AND PAYMENT HAS NOT BEEN RECEIVED AND YOU STILL WISH TO PARTICIPATE, YOU WILL BE ADDED TO THE END OF THE LIST, AND YOUR LINE-UP INFORMATION WILL BE ISSUED ON THE DATE OF THE PARADE – YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE THIS INFORMATION BY MAIL.
PLEASE ALSO REVIEW AND PRINT THE PARADE ROUTE MAPS, SHOULD YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED ONE BY MAIL.
